Handcrafted Knives Portfolio
My Passion and Craftsmanship

My knives are forged by hand using traditional katana forging methods—refined, shaped, clay-coated, water quenched, and finished carefully so the steel can speak. Each blade is different because each piece of kera is different. Some show calm grain. Some show wild movement. Each one carries a small mystery from the furnace.

My dream of Japan

It begins long before the blade.

Tamahagane (Wakou) is born from tatara ironmaking—a clay furnace, pine charcoal, iron sand, and a process so demanding it feels closer to ritual than production. The furnace is fed over and over, oxidizing and “returning” the steel through fire until the final gift is pulled out: kera, a lump of iron and carbon with many characters inside it.

A collection of old, rusty chisels and a meat cleaver with a wooden handle on a dark surface, with some metal shavings or debris.

Within that kera are different grades—some ordinary, some brittle, some full of life. Swordsmiths call the best inner steel tamahagane. For centuries it was the foundation of Japanese blades, and even today it carries the same idea: steel that can be breathtaking… but unforgiving.

That unforgiving nature is exactly why “all tamahagane” kitchen knives are rare.

A thin knife demands precision. Quenching temperature is a narrow doorway. A moment too cold and the hardness won’t rise. A moment too hot and the blade can crack and erase weeks of work in a single sound. Modern steels tolerate mistakes. Tamahagane exposes them.

I chose that path anyway.

Viking Inspirations

My fascination with Viking culture and history pushed me toward knives that feel honest and uncompromising - strong lines, durable builds, and materials that age with character.

Using traditional hammering and twisting, I forge each blade from high-quality Damascus steel. The resulting pattern can be bold and alive, often reminiscent of a wolf’s fangs.

Each knife is finished with care, then paired with handles made from materials like elk or reindeer antler, or birch bark — chosen for both beauty and grip.

Hunting Inspiration

I’m also inspired by the simple purpose of a hunting knife — a tool that needs to perform without excuses, while still carrying the mark of good craft.

Here you’ll find hand-forged knives made with the field in mind. Each piece is built with precision and attention to detail, using traditional techniques and solid materials to create a blade that is not only beautiful, but reliable and durable outdoors.

Whether you hunt regularly or simply appreciate a well-made tool, these knives are made to earn their place.
