Handcrafted Knives Portfolio
My Passion and Craftsmanship
Welcome to my portfolio. I’m Marcin Grabowiec, a professional knifemaker based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Every piece you see here is made one at a time, with close attention to steel choice, heat treatment, geometry, and finish — built to be used, and refined enough to be kept for life.
Viking Inspirations
My fascination with Viking culture and history pushed me toward knives that feel honest and uncompromising - strong lines, durable builds, and materials that age with character.
Using traditional hammering and twisting, I forge each blade from high-quality Damascus steel. The resulting pattern can be bold and alive, often reminiscent of a wolf’s fangs.
Each knife is finished with care, then paired with handles made from materials like elk or reindeer antler, or birch bark — chosen for both beauty and grip.
Japanese Inspirations
Japanese culture and blade-making traditions led me to explore tamahagane and San Mai — techniques that reward patience and precision, and produce knives with exceptional cutting feel and presence.
These knives are built using traditional methods and carefully selected materials. By combining hard and soft steel layers, the blade develops a distinct pattern that can look almost like moving water under the light.
Handles are often made from exotic woods or horn, shaped for comfort, control, and a confident grip.
Hunting Inspiration
I’m also inspired by the simple purpose of a hunting knife — a tool that needs to perform without excuses, while still carrying the mark of good craft.
Here you’ll find hand-forged knives made with the field in mind. Each piece is built with precision and attention to detail, using traditional techniques and solid materials to create a blade that is not only beautiful, but reliable and durable outdoors.
Whether you hunt regularly or simply appreciate a well-made tool, these knives are made to earn their place.
I hope you enjoy browsing my portfolio and the work behind each piece.
